Bulgogi (불고기) is a popular Korean dish. The word means "fire-meat".
1 poundtop sirloin (thinly sliced)
5 tablespoonsbrown sugar
1⁄2 cuplight soy sauce
2 clovesgarlic (finely chopped or crushed)
2 tablespoonssesame oil
1 cupgreen onions (split)
2 cupscarrots (julienned)
1 pinchblack pepper
2 tablespoonssesame seeds (toasted; optional)
5 tablespoonsmirin (or Sake; optional)
- Mix all ingredients except carrots. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Grill or pan-cook over medium high heat until meat is just short of desired completion.
- Add carrots and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
Serve with rice.
